Final exam

During this Writhing classes, we learnd how to write the English sentences every weeks, so we could get the skill of English grammer and vocaburaly. Before I take the Writing classes, I couldn’t write English sentences somothely. But I could write it smothely and get many vocaburalies because we wrote 10000 and 15000 words every weeks during this semester of 1 year. For example, we wrote free writing of our lives, book reviews, movie revews, typing homework, essays and so on.

I think Writing classes at 2nd grade is hard for you, but it is useful for you to get some English skills. So please never give up. Even if you have a trying year, it will be sure to make you learn many things. Also, you will get typing skill after you takeit. In my case, I was very weak to type on the boad but I can type smothely now than before. So Writing classes made me learn many things eclude English. I was glad to take it with 2A writing students and Mr. Paul.B.

I think 2nd grade students at Eibei Gekka is challenge year. This year for you will be sure to busy to do homeworks, blog or reports and so on. Please never give up. If you could do all things during this semester, your English skills sholud be grown and your mental strong than now. Please take care of your health to do too many things.

The Difference of Studying and Environment between Japanese and US Students

1. Introduction 

Today, 59.4% students who graduated from high school go on to college in Japan. The society became rich and high educational is background that the rate of students enter the university increased. Almost all the students are paid much money for university by their parents or lent a student loan in Japan. In the case of US, black people are increasing to enter the university recently. I want to compare Japanese students with American students. Which do they have different points for university. I’m writing it as following.


2. In Kumamoto  

 Most of Kumamoto Gakuen University students go to school just to take credits because we can’t graduate without having successfully completed a unite of study. So they usually attend a lecture while chatting with each other or doing other things. The interest of study which students have is very low. However this isn’t only Kumamoto Gakuen University students, almost all Japanese students tend to do that. In spite of having studied hard at high school to pass the examination of university, why do they do? There are some reasons why they do.

First reason, we have to decide our specialty of university when we take the examination. So if we entered the university and thought this university isn’t matched with me, we have to choice resigning school or continuing to go there or taking the entrance examination for transfer students. However it is difficult for normal students to take it because only a few of clever persons can take it.

Second reason, Japanese lecture style is just giving a lecture by professors. Students have only to listen his lecture. It is lecture style of Japan which Japanese students don’t have much chance to join to the lecture together. So it is boring for students. Or the distance of students and the professor is far. The reason why students feel boring the lecture is one of the reasons, too.

Third reason is human relations. In the case of Japanese students, they get together with various environment and areas where they have lived. So they can have a broad outlook on life. But their friends and acquaintances of the university are apt to extend the friends and acquaintances of the high school. Even if they have seen meny people who had lived other areas or environments, it would be shallow friends and acquaintances which are shallow and wide.

Forth reason, Japanese university doesn’t give many homework or reports. In other words, Japanese students don’t have the stimulation from outside that we have to study more generally. And then after entering university, even if their score were bad, they would graduate from university because they can also take the lecture next year until graduating.



In US

Most of US students of consciousness for studying and system of university are so different than Japanese ones. As follows, I give four reasons and examples, and then explain where US students different form Japanese students.

First reason, US students can decide to their specialty of university after entering the university. And they can also change their specialty of it after entering the university. So if students felt “this university is not matched with me”, whoever can change the specialty of university. Or they can take the entrance examination for transfer students. And some clever students can take the entrance top school examination for transfer students. If they entered other university, they keep taking credits because the credits which they got credits at former school and the credits are kept transferring to the present school. So it is not necessary to waste useless time and money.

Second reason, US lecture style is students need to join in it together. It is not at all passive lectures. So students can be conscious to join the lecture and study. And then the distance of professor and students is close to each other because US lecture style is students join in it.

Third reason is human relationship. In the case of US, there are many people came from other countries. There are many different cutlers, they can gain international sensitivity. And then especially some international students from other countries can gain independence and the self-subsistence by new overseas living. Or US professors give a lot of homework and reports. Students have to do that every time, the amount of homework and reports make them strong emotional strength. They have consciousness of studying hard because they came to study there expressly from own country and paid much money.

Forth reason, it is difficult for students to take credits because in the case of US University, an important point is not put in the middle test and semester test like Japan. So students must study every day to get good score anytime whenever professors give the examinations. And if some students got bad scores, university warn the students about it or kick out of the university. This is why US students try to study hard anytime.

Fifth reason, US students of university: they earn by themselves to get the expense of the university. For example they have a part time job among spring vacation after graduating from high school or they apply to the armed force to earn money and so on. They have consciousness; they have to go university by them power. It is great things. Other way is they lent Student Loan. It is the case of the International students; their expense of university is three times than normal students because they are not US people and didn’t pay taxes. It is hard for International students.

Conclusion 

From the above, we see many different things for studying students have between Japan and US. In the case of Japanese students, they are not high interested in studying of university in spite of they have studied hard to enter the university at high school. And then Japanese university and the system don’t give them the stimulation from outlook that makes them study hard. Most of Japanese students feel the lecture boring and they’re thinking; it is important just to take credits and graduate. They don’t have much consciousness of university for studying. But in the case of US students, they’re thinking studying of university is important for them. So they earn the expense by themselves and they try to study hard every times. The university system make them think flexible for own specialty and strong emotional strength. In other words, US students are independence. As far as these results, US university is good than Japanese university.   (1089/ 16290 words)

I translated "Manjyuukowai"to English from Japanese on the difference culture communication class.

Some young men living in the same block he got together and chatted,

While a learn man was out of breath and said “ha-ha-“, he came rushing in thir circle.

“he, help me!!” the man was trembling.

“What’s wrong, what’s wrong?” Everyone gathered together around him and listened what’s happened him.

He said, “A steamed bun selling person comes over from behind!!” They couldn’t understand its means.

He said, “I’m afraid of steamed buns. Oh! I must hide somewhere!”

So they hid him in a storeroom for the time being. But a man who likes to play a trick said, “He is strange. He is as proud as peacock and usually takes an attitude as if he made a fool of others. Let’s threaten him, that follow here.”

They bought many steamed buns from the steamed buns selling person and they piled up them on the tray, they put them into the storeroom.

For a short while, however, there are no sounds. They thought “Maybe he lose consciousness?” And then they opened the door, many steamed buns has gone. He ate all them.

Everyone said, “We thought we’ll threat you but you ate all them. What’s your the most dreadful thing?”

the secret of Jero was received in Japan

I watched this movie on Honors.

In my opinions, the secret of Jero was received in Japan has four reasons mainly.

First reason is his consideration for his grandmother. He became Enka singer to pleasure his grandmother. His action made us associate “Oba-chankko” we call in Japan. So we feel Jero is gentle man. Second reason is gap he has. His looks is like a rapper but he has a powerful voice and outstanding singing ability of Enka. Or he employs some rapper back dancers as his back dancer. Third reason is Black person singing Enka is just rare for us. Japan isn’t multinational culture. We had never seen “foreigner singing Enka”. So it is fresh and new for us and he attracts the interest of many Japanese. Finally, fourth reason is Japanese tends to receiver foreign singer recently. For example, KARA, Big-ban and so on. And then we also tend to receive star, model, TV talent except singer. Japanese is having some the points of view gradually.

This is why: I think these four reasons made Jero’s popularity (190/14942 words)

I read this movie on Honors.

When I watched this movie, I felt a big anger against the situation which many women are suffered from FGM which is done undeveloped areas; Africa, the Southeast Asia and so on.

FGM is not written on the Koran, so it is not related to religious reason. FGM has a traditional culture people think is conscious and is influenced the climatic or social system by predominance of man over woman. These are big cause which FGM isn’t abolished in the world. Young girls should live while getting big hurt their mind and body because there is the meaningless circumcision. If worse comes to worst, they die getting hurt throughout the life.

We should emphasize to abolish FGM and the custom of evil while saying “We aren’t related to it” We should make them find FGM is not proper culture because we were growing up in difference environment. And then they must also stand up by themselves.  (170/ 14752 words)

Right to name the name whoever wants to

I read this article to do homwork on Honors. I was surprised it. 

 
~ Right to name the name whoever wants to~

After reading this article, I was so surprised there are some legal rules when parents name own child.

 After all, naming to children is parents wish the child’s health and wonderful future and name it. Is it good to limit naming the personal name because there aren’t Icelandic grammar and pronunciation on the law? The government maybe have some speculates to keep tradition or Icelandic, but it shouldn’t rob the right to name the personal name such the reasons. Even there isn’t the right to name free, in other words, cannot we say it isn’t respected a basic human right?

There are some countries which have such the law. I think they should think the system has the wrongfulness and renew it. If it is done, the wonderful names which parents wish the child’s health and future splendid all over the world. (174/ 14582 words)

BR:2-19 The Nutcracker

"I wonder if that means he knew the Nutcracker Prince would rescue me, thought Clara."[p.47]

After reading this book, I felt real book’s story is good story. I have never read it, but I have ever read another dreadful story.

The story is Heitaisan killing people who played “it”. When I was a child and listened it, I couldn’t sleep rightly because it was too dreadful for me to listen it. So I had had the bad image of the Nutcracker. But this real story is good story. Clara helped the crisis of the Nutcracker, so she can go the wonderland with the Nutcracker.

I thought it is good for me to know the real story of the Nutcracker. If I didn’t read it, I have had the bad image of it yet.
