ERC welcome freshman camp

I’m belonging to Economic Research Circle since about February in 2012.  This circle’s member is very kind people. We went to Misato-tyou to welcome freshman camp.

36members jointed this camp. We rented three cottages and a senior member of circle: Mr. Nishigami is a DJ, so he brought the DJ machines and played it while eating BBQ. Everyone excited because tension was higher than always. Camp’s plan was gotten ready for it by 3rd grades, so 2nd grades made some rice balls and grilled meat on BBQ.

We danced to the music or talked something and so on, while having a good time until the morning.

The morning, we then clean up around those cottages, we went to a hot spring. I like to go a hot spring because I live alone in Kumamoto, so I don’t usually use the bath. I can stretch my legs as I possible and my feeling become relax.


I enjoyed welcome freshman camp. I thought that I went to this camp is good. If it holds again, I would like to go with everyone.

Wuthering Heights

I studied “Wuthering Heights” written by Emily Jane Bronte on history of American literature’s class. I’d like to write my impression to it



This story all begins with Heathcliff who no his relatives come to the Earnshaw, after the master take him to his house. Others and the brother Hindley treated Heathcliff as a servant, but his daughter of Catherine treated normal. Heathcliff had against them of grudge increasing. Catherine and Heathcliff gradually fell in love each other, while growing. However, she acquainted with the eldest son of the house Edgar Linton, Catherine is attracted to wealth and fame of Edgar. Heathcliff accept the suitor betrayed. And Heathcliff disappear about three years. Then he returned to be rich man. He eventually begins to take revenge against them.



When I watched this movie, I witnessed one of produce the power of love madness. Second is Discrimination and prejudice I’d like to state 2 points



First, in regard to produce the power of love madness, I think that the characteristic of "love" is beginning to have madness was born. If we faced with my partner not going the way you want do some things, people will take the action of the love of two patterns. First, they hold themselves in the hope that spouse’s happiness and leaving the feelings of love.  Second, they love spouse try to turn around their lover's feelings, even using any hand. In this movie, it is an activity done for based on revenge them has produced this love madness. He wants to turn around the feeling of Catherine, Heathcliff of love is a pattern of the latter traced the source. However, this action involving the said afflicts many people around. I kept the love is transformed into madness straight to Catherine can’t think about the feelings of others.


Then, in regard to prejudice and discrimination, the lack of romantic relationship of Catherine and Heathcliff is discrimination and prejudice is involved. Heathcliff was in the low status socially as servants. Catherine is in a position wealthy socially, of the house Earnshaw. They had been in love with each other, she had had the eyes of prejudice-discrimination against Heathcliff, where unaware of itself Catherine had. It became an opportunity to stir up a feeling of revenge for his hurt that he was betrayed. Violence bad for Kathy daughter of Edgar and the feeling of Heaton being treated like a servant is despised by others if the normal state, and Catherine and Isabella, although it is supposed to be something difficult to overlap with the feeling was painful have been their own, it has been driven by revenge to the house so do not feel even Linton.

From that described above, it kept the love that Heathcliff is transformed into a straight to her madness led to discrimination and prejudice of Catherine.

1-03b: Language learning histories


I have ever studied three languages. I’d like to introduce my languages learning histories from I was a child to now.

First, I was a child, my mother, father and grandparents told me how to speak and pronounce Japanese basic since I was about three years ago. For example, they told me some words so, I learned Japanese basic. When I was a kindergartener, we learned Hiragana by some teachers and they made us sing some children songs: Officer of the dog, Elephant and Saita saita and so on. I made some friends they were same ages played with them, so my Japanese skill was flaunting gradually.



Second, I entered an elementary school, I learned Kanji and I jointed English conversation school when I was about 8 years old. So I was too early to learn English than others. I liked Kanji, so I got always full marks on the Kanji test. While I learned English by English conversation school teacher. For example; singing some English songs, teaching basic English grammar, words and pronunciation and so on. When I studied English at the first time, I liked it because I enjoyed learning it then. I have had a dream to get a work related to use English.



Third, I entered a junior high school; we studied English in earnest at the school, while studying Japanese. As for English, it was easy for me to study it because I had studied it since I was about 8 years old. And I like both English and Japanese. So I also studied English conversation school. When I was a junior high school student, I qualified until Eiken grade 3. I tried to qualify Eiken grade 2 levels, but I failed it.



Forth, I entered a high school. English and Japanese were difficult for me to study them graduatelly. As for Japanese, we studied modern Japanese and classics. I didn’t like classics, so I was told it by Japanese teacher personality. And English was more difficult for me; I was good at learning English. But I have liked English, so I studied hard as I possible. I passed Eiken grade 2. I intended to study English than I have ever studied it.



At the End, I studied English now in KGU and I had German as second language. It was very difficult for me to study it. When a teacher told us the German grammar, but I didn’t understand it. So I was told by my some friends. Especially, I studied before the test of German. In regard to some comments of a friend of my essay, German seems to be very difficult for them too. As for English, I’m not good at speaking. So I determined to change myself, I’m going to study abroad for a month. I have full of uneasiness of my homestay life. But, I’ll do my best .So I encourage each other that are going to go abroad to do homestay with me as homestay program of school. So I study English harder to useful my homestay life in American. However, I must finish some homework until July 22th. So I must finish them while studying English. It is very hard for me to do all. But I do my best.



This is why; I have ever studied three languages. But especially as for English, I’m not satisfied with my English skill. I will continue to effort to improve my English skill. I’d like to get beyond 800 scores in TOIEC until I’ll graduate this school. So I must study harder than before.

BR: 1-17 Peter pan


When Peter Pan flew, Hook fell into water where the crocodile was waiting .” [p.26]

I read this story for the first time when I was a child. I had thought it until I was a child that I want to go Never land because the world where we do not have to be able to remain in work for children and the paradise for children.

However I don’t want to go there because I think Never land is too boring, if I would live there. I have some reasons why I thought it. First, if there is no stimulus from the society if we could not be improved our skill of living. So I can’t wear a common sense of society. Second, we can’t be an adult. We can’t taste the fun each time you increase growth.

This is why; I think the selection of Wendy was a right. If I were Wendy, I would done same selection.

BR: 1-16 Marie Antionett

"But I try to be all those, she thought, and Louis still love me"[p.34]

I had watched Marie Antoinette of movie when I was 16 years old. I thought she was bad woman but I thought she was too criticized from the public.

 It was nature that the public got angry because she lived in luxury. However I think it was a life of luxury is not just her. The luxury people can’t be more than Marie Antoinette.

Why did she only been accused of so much from the public? I think she was an Australian.  Australia and France was hailed as the queen of France Marie Antoinette to make each other improve diplomatic relationship. So I think that she wasn’t too bad woman than she was said from the public.

This is why, I want to know true story of Marie Antoinette. So I try to read some Marie Antoinette’s biographies.

BR: 1-15 Rapunzel

"Princess Rapunzel and Prince Han lived happily together for the rest of their lives and, in time, had three beautiful children- Pumpkin, Lettuce and Sprout” [p.47]

I read this story and watched this movie of Rapunzel. But I thought it is different it from the original work. In original work, witch isn’t a bad woman; she is a kind mother of Rapunzel. Or Prince only come to Rapunzel, he didn’t help her.

I like the original Rapunzel than the remake movie. The movie is normal story. It was rewritten to safe children and makes fit round of story. I don’t like rewritten movie because the original work is true one. So if it is rewritten, there aren’t real interesting than before and it became another work.

This is why, I try to watch or read original work than watching or reading rewritten one. When I watch movie or read novel, I try to read or watch original because I think it is better to enjoy them.

BR: 1-14 The Little Mermaid


“With tear streaming down her cheeks, the brave little mermaid disappeared into the welcoming waves.” [p.47]

I read this story; this story tells me Mermaid’s kind of her heart. I had watched the movie and read it for the first time when I was a child.

In regard to love, I thought Mermaid was a great woman. Recently, there are many problems of domestic violence. I think these problems were caused by nothing considerate to one’s spouse. If they are considerate their spouse, these problems would not happen. In this story’s Mermaid, she prioritized spouse’s love them her feeling to him and she death to protect him.

It is important that people loves others, but it is bad that they can’t considerate other’s feelings. If they love true for their spouse, they must think and their spouse want them to do.

BR: 1-13The Emperor's New Clothes


“I must carry on, he thought.” [p.45]

When I read this story, I thought that the emperor suffered for people because he didn’t involve in politics and he only chose various his favorite’s clothes. The nation was always in trouble by his inaccurate attitude for politics. So the emperor was tricked by two swindlers and he was embarrassed in front of the nation.

I think emperor as person who is involved in politics directly should think seriously about own nation and improve their lives more comfortable. If the emperor would not do these things, he doesn’t have a right as an emperor.

The emperor’s new clothe makes us think it is important for us that people should considerate and think seriously each other.

The Last of the Mohicans


 I studied “The Last of the Mohicans” written by James Fenimoa Cooper on history of American literature’s class. I’d like to write my impression to it.

 When I watched this movie, I witnessed one of tragedy was caused by civilized society. I’d like to state 3 points. Once is Indian dairy broken by civilized society, second is the racial discrimination to suffer by European and third is the love beyond race.  

 First, I’d like to think about India dairy broken by civilized society and the racial discrimination to Indian suffered by European has civilized society countries such as French and England had invaded America to colonize there had influenced their lives. Probably I think it hadn’t the hatred births hatred, let them massacre whites, and Indians to fight each other.  As a result, they lost important family each other. These are the result to seek the more comfortable living than more necessary. In the cases, countries sought self-interest is French and England. Gentleman of Europe diplomacy is only intended for Europeans, but that is not for American local people. American local people was just sacrifice to proceed superiority and more comfortable their lives of European and they weren’t interested in their lives of American local people.

 On this movie, captain Munro didn’t listen what Hawkeye said, he carried out only to be involved in the interest of the United Kingdom. The representative must be considered the living environment of soldiers and nation to support their lives. However he thought only short-term profits. So he didn’t have capacity to be the representative. These things also included that the problem of racial discrimination.

 If own subordinate captain Munro couldn’t be interested in it. This attitude is based on the self-interest and others sacrifice. They were immersed in the sense of own cultural superiority because they played a civilization. However why say such a thing on what grounds? While there are difference skin color of mankind, which is the same person have no superiority or inferiority. Therefore, a captain Munro couldn’t have capacity to attitude for them.

 At the end, I’d like to think about the beauty of love beyond the race. Hawkeye who was orphan of the pioneers of the British and Cola who was British peeress were different state were felt in love each other. Love is a wonderful thing and can even fall in love each other difference of race like this. Bravely which Hawkeye has pried of the Mohicans and defend an important woman testified to the beauty of love beyond the race.

 To summarize the results have been thinking of these, the racial discrimination is born from an idea of own cultural superiority, the hated is born to hate, and they leaves a more or less pain to both. However, love is the feelings of universal more than a race. ( 472/8115 words)
