BR:2-19 The Nutcracker

"I wonder if that means he knew the Nutcracker Prince would rescue me, thought Clara."[p.47]

After reading this book, I felt real book’s story is good story. I have never read it, but I have ever read another dreadful story.

The story is Heitaisan killing people who played “it”. When I was a child and listened it, I couldn’t sleep rightly because it was too dreadful for me to listen it. So I had had the bad image of the Nutcracker. But this real story is good story. Clara helped the crisis of the Nutcracker, so she can go the wonderland with the Nutcracker.

I thought it is good for me to know the real story of the Nutcracker. If I didn’t read it, I have had the bad image of it yet.

BR:2-18 HAMLET

"If you are dying, I'll die with you"[p.62]

I had listened this book’s title and the author but I have never read this story. After reading this book, I felt sad because I thought that killed own father is too sad things.

I understood Hamlet’s feeling because his father was killed by his uncle and his mother was robbed too. Maybe his mind is broken a thing into pieces. If I were him, I might have done like him. And another sad thing is there was no one who stopped his doing.

After reading this book, I felt sad feeling. There was much hatred while family. They were families, but they couldn't be said family because nit thinking families each other isn't families. I think.

BR:2-17 The Phantom of the Opera

"She reached up and kissed the phantom's cheek where it wasn't hidden by the mask."[p.61]

I have ever watched it on movie. It is called “Operazanokaijin” in Japan. This story is an ugly man who haven’t been loved by others take Christine away. This man is sad man because his face is ugly, so others have never loved him. He was always lonely.

After reading this book, I thought that if I had been loved by my parents, how is my feeling? It is so sad for me. But the phantom has never been loved by others including his parents. And if I have a child who is like him in the future, I’ll be able to love my child? It is difficult things because parents can’t choice my child or child also can’t choice own parents. But the important thing is child isn’t bad. So parents must try to love own child.

This book’s story is a little different with movie I have watched. So I thought that I want to watch it again.

BR:2-16 Heidi

“Once I was sad and lonely", he told Heidi, "but you've made me a happy man."[p.63]

I like this story and it is famous all over the world. And it is arranged another version. For example there are TV commercial, anime and so on. I can remember “Teinenpi-shoujyo Heidi” immediately.

The best scene I like is Clara could stand up by herself. She could stand up owe to Heidi, grandfather, Patter. But this book is a little different with anime I have watched Heidi. I like the anime’s scene than this book. It is impressed to me Heidi’s kind for Clara. Their relationship is so great.

After reading book, I thought good relationship with friends is so beautiful and wonderful. I try to be a wonderful relationship more than now.

BR:2-15 Thumbelina

"Will you stay with me and br Queen of the flowers?" he asked.

I remembered this story on this time I read it. I thought Thumbelina is a similar in Japanese “Issunboushi”. Issunboushi is also a story of smaller thing than usual.

A character of Thumbelina on this story is small cute person. So she was caught up in various happenings. But she could escape the situation a swallow she helped. I think that she was able to escape is the God looked her kindness. If she was in whatever bad situation, she has had kindness. If I were her, I could not to do that. She had kindness for everyone she related, so she could escape with a swallow and got married with prince of the flower country.

I found that it is important to have kindness for whoever after reading it.

BR:2-14 Frankenstein

"You may hate me, but I hate myself more"[p.63]

I have listened only name of “Frankenstein” but I didn’t know this story. After reading this story, I thought Frankenstein was a bad man and didn’t have moral.

If he hasn’t created the monster, the monster hadn’t suffered from finding his identity or significance of resentence because he was born this world without relating his intention. Frankenstein’s thinking was just creating a perfect human by using dead person. But his thinking was too shallow. If he haven’t created the monster, his wife would haven’t killed by the monster and the monster hadn’t have suffered from himself things.

I think creating human is too bad things because it destroys race of human and such a shallow action isn’t thought the feeling created things. It is against morality. We mustn’t create humans.

BR:2-13Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

"To their astonishment, she opened her eyes"[p.45]

I have ever watched "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" called "Shirayukihime" by Japanese. When I was a kindergartener, I had watched it first time. It was Walt Disney’s movie. I fascinated this story and musical.

After reading this book, I felt the dear feeling. When I was a child, I liked the Cinderella story like this book very much. And I had thought I want to get married with prince like Cinderella. This story makes girls feel shining feeling. I like “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” the best of all Disney stories. Maybe almost girls like it.

Now I am growing so I don’t believe it to be true. But I read this book, my feeling makes warm. I thought it is good that I have such a girl’s dream.

BR:2-12 The Fashion Story of Fashion

"By the 1830's, every well-dressed lady wanted puffy sleeves."[p.60]

The opportunity I intended to read this book is I’m interested in fashion. So I picked it up and read.

This book said fashion of the present from accent Roma. Each time’s fashions were influenced the time of culture or change and so on. After reading this book, I think I want to wear France’s clothes of 1700s because they were so gorgeous and fashionable dresses. But people wore the clothes of the time have to squish own the waist. They were laced so tightly, even breathing was hard. I thought if I wore this dress, I couldn’t live to keep my life smoothly. So I want to wear a few times whiling I live.

I think fashion is repeated after the time of years. Especially, woman’s fashion is like that way. Woman’s fashion is influenced more than men’s one. I thought woman is hard to keep fashionable and lovely own.

BR:2-11 Black Beauty

"That's what Squire Gordon called Beauty's patch."[p.62]

I read this story first time. Before having read this story, I hadn’t have think about horses’ feeling.

The cats or dogs like pets are loved by people but horses or caws or others like people uses or eats are just raisin to ride, eat, and do something else. We are human, so we don’t use or eat by others but other animals are used just as human wants. I know we can’t say only high sounding statement to keep our life. We have to live to eat or make a living by other animals.

In this story, Black Beauty was broken his borne, so people thrown away him. I think this is a bad thing. Even if he could not run, we have his important life once, so we have to take care of his rest life.

After reading this book, I thought we have to use or eat many things related to other animals.

BR:2-10 The Three Wishes

"I wish the sausage was off your nose, said Nad"[p.22]

I read this story first time. This story is an old man and woman’s wishes story. An old man wished has a sausage because he was so hungry. But an old woman wished does something more and bigger than his wishes. If I were they, I would wish something like an old woman because I could have rare chance to be fulfilled whatever I wish.

After reading this story, I thought if we have a rare chance to be fulfilled our wishes, what should we have priority? Big whishes like an old man? Have some beautiful clothes? Something makes rich than now? Or we should wish small things? For instance, having a sausage like an old man.

I want to wish bigger things to be rich than now. But if I wish bigger things, I should recognize the situation of mine. Just the greed is not good. I want to wish to make myself good than now exclude the bad greed.

BR:2-8 The Twelve Dancing Princesses

"They were all still dancing the following night."[p.25]

I read this story first time. This story is funny story but I think the waiting twelve princes are looks so sad because they were looking forward to seeing and dancing with twelve princesses.

I think the action of twelve princesses danced with princes every night is not bad things. Just dancing with princes isn’t OK? Maybe the king is their parent so he was just worry about them. In my case, my parents are so worrywart. It must be if they are my parents. But I wanted to be free more because I can’t do any things than others because my parents are so worrywart. I think parents should believe their children more.

If I would be parent of my children, I want them to do many things to some extent.

BR:2-7 Stories of Princes & Princesses

"The invitation said: "Please come- but take a bath first!"[p.46]

I read this story first time. I think funny story for kids.

After reading it, I think it is difficult to choose the partner on own life. In my opinion, the most important point to choose own partner is matching character or personality with you. The good relation isn't connected only to choose appearance or class. If there is not true love, they can’t live together on their lives. So the most important point is matching character or personality with you to live together on their lives.

This is why I thought I want to be careful to choose the partner if I met ran into someone.

BR:2-6 TITANIC

"The Titanic disaster forced the world to realize that no ship, however powerful and well-designed, was unsinkable." [p.54]

I have ever watched TITANIC movie 5 times. This story is sad but beautiful love story. So I like it. This time, I read TITANIC, I was able to know not only the true story but the story of TITANIC movie.

TITANIC was made in England on 1994. TITANIC sank off sea of winter in 1994 because it bumped an iceberg About 1,513 passengers or crews died on the accident. In the movie, a woman and man fall in love each other. But the woman was a high class, the man was a citizen class. Their love was difficult to recognize from others. I think their love was beautiful because they struggled the difference of class and they loved each other straightly.

I have ever watched TITANIC five times but I don’t get tired to watch it. And then it makes me want to watch it again. Maybe this reason is TITANIC is non-fiction and impresses many people’s heart.

BR:2-5 Gulliver's Travels

"A place called Lilliput," said Gulliver and he showed the captain his souvenirs. [p.62]

I had read this story when I was a kindergartener. This story was made into a movie a few years ago. Now, I read it again and studied about this writer a little bit. This story was written by Jonathan Swift, he was a famous writer. He described the relation between the England and France on the story.

I think Gulliver’s feeling was like a foreigner when he arrived at the country small people living. Because it is different all things’ size we think. And then it was birth the difference of thinking. I have been to US once last summer vacation. I felt the difference of culture of life style. Maybe He felt the feeling like me.
And then Lilliput was described England at then. I think this story was described well the time of relation between the England and France. And then it was criticized the relation by using this story.

This story is funny and interesting for children but it is described the criticism about a few things. I think that it isn’t good for children but adult.

BR:2-04 Three Billy-Goats

“OK, here I come! says the very big goat.” [p.15]
I read this story when I was a kindergartener. And then we made a play of it in there.

I think the big goat was kind goat because other goats forced him to fight the troll. But he didn’t feel bat it and he fought for others to pass on the bridge. His kind and brave make my feeling warm. This story is that the big goat fought alone. But I thought the best way to pass on the bridge and defeated the troll is fighting all together. So if they fought all together, only one goat hasn’t have a dangerous experience or felt unpleasant.

The big goat’s kind made my feeling warm. I want to be a person like him.

BR: 2-03 Little Red Riding Hood

‘It’s OK, little girl! It’s OK! says the wolf. “I’m a good wolf”’[p.6]

I remembered I had read this story when I was a child. And I played the part of Little Red Riding Hood on the kindergarten.

I read this story again, I think don’t follow strangers because what if he looks like kind or gentleman on his outside, he might be bad man and dangerous on inside. So we don’t believe strangers immediately.

This world, there are many dangerous problems even if it is Japan. And then parents who have children have to pay attention to it especially. Or others who live in local place have to cooperate with each other. For example someone stay street which students always go to school.

I think “Little Red Riding Hood is just a story” is bad. We have to think about them seriously.

BR:2-02 The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse

“‘Ah! He says happily. ‘It’s good to be home again” [p.19]

I read this story, I remembered I had read one when I was a child.

Two mice have some different lifestyles each other. So they felt own lifestyle and home are the best for each other. I have experience like this. When I was in Minnesota for Kaigaikenshuu and stayed with my host family’s house, I felt my house is the best for me. Because we have some different lifestyles each other, so a lot of things were strange for me then. For example, they eat a lot of sweets every day; Cookies, cakes, ice creams, anything else.

My real mother taught me too eat sweet things are bad for our health. So I couldn’t eat many sweets every day. I could eat a sweet a few times a week. Maybe, I felt strange in Minnesota is difference of culture between America and Japan. It was natural for America but it wasn’t strange for me as Japanese.

I had experienced a lots about thinking my home is the best. Anyway, most of people feel own town, home, lifestyle are the best than others because they have ever lived their lifestyle.

BR:2-1 Elmo says ACHOO!

"Achoo! Elmo sneezes. The clowns all tumble down" [p.22]
I read this story; I felt there are some ways to sneeze all over the world. In this story, way to sneeze is "ACHOO!” In Japan, way to sneeze is "HAKKUSHON!” If one person sneezes in Japan, we think that person is having cold? Or he is gossiped by someone? And we speak him, “You’re having cold? or someone gossips about you!”
In America, way to sneeze is ACHOO. If American sneezes, others say “Bless you”. I thought it was marvelous idea. Even if that person is a stranger, they can say it naturally each other.

Maybe, there are a lot of ways to sneeze all over the world and what to say after someone sneezing. This story is very interesting for me.

BR: 1-17 Peter pan

When Peter Pan flew, Hook fell into water where the crocodile was waiting .” [p.26]

I read this story for the first time when I was a child. I had thought it until I was a child that I want to go Never land because the world where we do not have to be able to remain in work for children and the paradise for children.

However I don’t want to go there because I think Never land is too boring, if I would live there. I have some reasons why I thought it. First, if there is no stimulus from the society if we could not be improved our skill of living. So I can’t wear a common sense of society. Second, we can’t be an adult. We can’t taste the fun each time you increase growth.

This is why; I think the selection of Wendy was a right. If I were Wendy, I would done same selection.

"But I try to be all those, she thought, and Louis still love me"[p.34]

I had watched Marie Antoinette of movie when I was 16 years old. I thought she was bad woman but I thought she was too criticized from the public.

It was nature that the public got angry because she lived in luxury. However I think it was a life of luxury is not just her. The luxury people can’t be more than Marie Antoinette.

Why did she only been accused of so much from the public? I think she was an Australian.  Australia and France was hailed as the queen of France Marie Antoinette to make each other improve diplomatic relationship. So I think that she wasn’t too bad woman than she was said from the public.

This is why, I want to know true story of Marie Antoinette. So I try to read some Marie Antoinette’s biographies.
