Hello everyone! This time, I’m going to introduce everybody about Julia Roberts. Do you know her? Have you heard her name? Surely, you know her because you study “Notting Hill” in the listening class. Her real name is Julia Fiona Roberts, and her age is 45. She has worked long time. Her birthplace is United States. The height is 175 centimeter. She appears a lot of movies and she is a very famous actress. “Mirror Mirror” is a movie quite recently and she appeared the part of a bad witch in it. Did you see it in the theater? I wait for DVD of “Mirror Mirror”, I want to see it quickly. This time, I’m going to introduce everybody about three movies, family, and awards and other movies and scandal on herself.

At the first, I introduce “Valentine’s Day”. Have you seen it? The movie was shown in 2010, and love story. The movie director is Garry Marshall. She appeared the part of a soldier on the American armed forces, and her official name was Kate. Co-stars are Ann Hathaway, Taylor Swift, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, and Bradly Cooper, etc. The movie drew Valentine’s Day of each ten couples who live in Los Angeles. And it is collection of short stories. I saw the movie. Each short stories were very interesting and moving, I was moved to tears. I thought that the movie was a very heart-warming movie after I saw. I recommend the movie “Valentine’s Day” to everybody.

Next, I introduce about “Pretty Woman”. Have you seen it? This movie is my favorite movie because it is very interesting and pretty story. Maybe, Girls like this movie. She played in a call girl at this movie. The name is vivian ward, and she played in a poor woman. She was poor woman at first, but she meet one man. After she met him, she changed her life. He is too rich man and he likes her on the movie. She fall in love him and the end is happy end. This movie is love story. This movie is called cinderella story by everyone. This movie has dream for girls. Her partner’s actor is Richard Gere. He is too cool, so he is much the role. And director is Garry Marshall. He is nice director. So This movie is very good for everyone. in this movie, she is so cute and sexy. If you are free, why don’t you watching this movie?

Third, I introduce Notting Hill. You know or have you ever watched the movie? Notting Hill is a Love story which happens between a divorced man in the UK and an actress tremendously popular among people. The role of Julia Roberts is Anna: she is an actress. In fact, Julia Roberts is also a real actress today. So we think her performance is like herself. She was thinking about the suffering as an actress while playing the role of Anna when she made the film with others. For instance, if she wanted to get along with other people equally, they would not have treated her as a human equal with others because she is a tremendously popular actress. Surely, she experienced the suffering on real life. I seemed to see her role of Anna performance is simply and cheerful personality. I think there are many things we can sympathize on this movie. For instance, the feeling of love which we can’t get along with him well,  So please watch this movie, if you didn’t watch it yet.

I introduce about Julia Roberts’ family. Her family is a husband and the twins of boy and girl and a boy. She got married once in 1993, but it was divorced in 1995. And she got married again to a movie cameraman in 2002.

She had scandals on herself. She was acquainted with a lot of actors. She was engaged with Kiefer Sutherland, but she didn’t marry with him. After that, she went to trip with Jason Patric. He is closed Kiefer Sutherland. In 1993, She married with Lyle Lovett, but she discover in 1995. And she has an affair with Daniel Moder and she married him in 2002.

And I introduce that many awards which she was awarded a prize. She was awarded a prize Golden Globe Award of the Best Supporting Actress on “Steel Magnolias” which was shown in 1989. And she was awarded a prize Golden Globe Award for Best Actress-Motion Picture Musical or Comedy on “Pretty Woman”. She became the candidate the Academy Award on “Steel Magnolias” and she was nominated for the Academy Award on “Pretty Woman”. She was awarded a prize Academy Award for Best Actress on “Elin Brockovich” which was sown in 2000.

Or I introduce that other on her movies. It is “Larry Crowne” Her role is a lazy teacher of speaking at Community College. A man; Larry Crowne who was dismissed from a Supermarket enters there to reemploy other work. They met together and birth a comedy drama. If you watch it, you can see her different performance as an actress in comparison with some movie which we wrote as above.

That is why; Julia Roberts has a great power and depth of her performance. She has a great ability as an actress. As the evidence, she gained many prizes and she has been as a famous actress from her childhood to now; she is 45 years old. Isn’t it great? So we recommend you to watch the movie played her. Hi, everyone! Where is your hometown? I’m from Miyazaki. So I like my hometown because I have lived there since I was born. I introduce my favorite place in my hometown. There are many wonderful places in my hometown. For example nature, school which I had gone, my parents’ house and so on. There are wonderful things for me. I’ll introduce the best place I think that is high school.

First reason, high school which I had gone is there are many good teachers in there. Especially, Mr. Muraoka teacher took care of me, so I appreciated his kind, he always considerate me. Whenever I was worried about something, he talked me “What’s happened?” “I’ll consult with your worrying”. So I talked about my worrying of studying, university and so on. Mr. Muraoka teacher was never in change my class, but he was the head teacher in charge of all classes. And then when I took an exam for Kitakyuushu Kouritsu college’s recommendations from their high school, he was in charge of me. So he told me many useful things.

Second reason, high school is events which we tackled seriously. For example athletic festival, culture festival school excursion and so on. My best memory of high school event is culture festival. Our class won the championship of a chorus in culture festival. We were very happy we were the champion. It was the best memory of my high school life.

Third reason, high school I had gone is there were many goods friend in there. When I was a high school student, everyone got along with each other. So sooo funny every day!! We studied together, played free time, quarreled with each other. But they were good memories for me. Especially I appreciated Shihoko, she is a friend of mine since I was in high school. She is kind and powerful girl. I sometimes quarreled with her but we always got along with each other. When I took an exam of Kitakyuushu University, she made pencil box for me. And the she said me “I wish you will pass the exam!!” I was so happy, I kept it and used it now. I think she is the best friend. She goes to Miyazaki University, so I can’t meet her frequently. However we have free time, we always meet and go somewhere and talk about each other. I want to meet her again.

Four reasons, high school I had gone is there are many lessons for students. This school teacher took care of our studying hard. Especially, there are many lessons after school, after taking Center Examination. And if there aren’t lessons the day, we could listen how to solve the problems we couldn’t solve. Teachers taught us them what if they were busy. They were so kind teachers.

This is why I like high school. Whenever I have free time, I always go there to see teachers with my friends. I think sometimes I want to come back in high school life. So I am looking forward to see each other in a coming-of-age celebration. Maybe some people changed their appearances. They are the part of my pleasure. (550/8279 words)

1-03b: Language learning histories

I have ever studied three languages. I’d like to introduce my languages learning histories from I was a child to now.

First, I was a child, my mother, father and grandparents told me how to speak and pronounce Japanese basic since I was about three years ago. For example, they told me some words so, I learned Japanese basic. When I was a kindergartener, we learned Hiragana by some teachers and they made us sing some children songs: Officer of the dog, Elephant and Saita saita and so on. I made some friends they were same ages played with them, so my Japanese skill was flaunting gradually.

Second, I entered an elementary school, I learned Kanji and I jointed English conversation school when I was about 8 years old. So I was too early to learn English than others. I liked Kanji, so I got always full marks on the Kanji test. While I learned English by English conversation school teacher. For example; singing some English songs, teaching basic English grammar, words and pronunciation and so on. When I studied English at the first time, I liked it because I enjoyed learning it then. I have had a dream to get a work related to use English.

Third, I entered a junior high school; we studied English in earnest at the school, while studying Japanese. As for English, it was easy for me to study it because I had studied it since I was about 8 years old. And I like both English and Japanese. So I also studied English conversation school. When I was a junior high school student, I qualified until Eiken grade 3. I tried to qualify Eiken grade 2 levels, but I failed it.

Forth, I entered a high school. English and Japanese were difficult for me to study them graduatelly. As for Japanese, we studied modern Japanese and classics. I didn’t like classics, so I was told it by Japanese teacher personality. And English was more difficult for me; I was good at learning English. But I have liked English, so I studied hard as I possible. I passed Eiken grade 2. I intended to study English than I have ever studied it.

At the End, I studied English now in KGU and I had German as second language. It was very difficult for me to study it. When a teacher told us the German grammar, but I didn’t understand it. So I was told by my some friends. Especially, I studied before the test of German. In regard to some comments of a friend of my essay, German seems to be very difficult for them too. As for English, I’m not good at speaking. So I determined to change myself, I’m going to study abroad for a month. I have full of uneasiness of my homestay life. But, I’ll do my best .So I encourage each other that are going to go abroad to do homestay with me as homestay program of school. So I study English harder to useful my homestay life in American. However, I must finish some homework until July 22th. So I must finish them while studying English. It is very hard for me to do all. But I do my best.

This is why; I have ever studied three languages. But especially as for English, I’m not satisfied with my English skill. I will continue to effort to improve my English skill. I’d like to get beyond 800 scores in TOIEC until I’ll graduate this school. So I must study harder than before.

We introduce my university. We commute to Kumamoto Gakuen University. There is in Kumamoto. It is the most biggest university in Kumamoto. 6631 people attend to go it. This is four departments, and the Faculty of Commercial Science and the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Faculty of Social Welfare. There are fifteen course of study into four departments. There has many great teachers, they are specialist each field of study.



First, We would like to talk to you about Eibei Gakka. Eibei Gakka has various devices to improve our English skill. For example, ALC is learning word site. We study many word for it. It is interesting for us to remember about English word. Please you try it, so you will learn many words. Anything else, second year students in Eibei should write many essay and upload to blogger for us essay. We should write 10000 word in spring semester. We can’t it, but we learn great skill for writing.



Second, We teach you about English Lounge. The space is communicated with an international student and native speaker of instructor in English. Only the students manage English Lounge, and If you go to there, you should speak in English. You should not speak Japanese. It hold many event, for example Christmas party and Halloween party. You should do see a English Lounge. You can be to get along with many friends.



Third, Kumamoto Gakuen University has many good places. There are alot of places to eat foods and drinks. For example, Lawson, Bakery, student dining hall. We want to teach you Bakery. Bakery is in 12 center. I often go to there. We like there, because there are many kinds of bread. Our friends and we like bread. Our favorite bread is Mentai bread. It is very delicious. Do you know it? We want to eat it. If you eat it, you never forget its taste.



Fourth, we teach you student dining hall. It has a lot of various foods and drink. There are a lot of kinds of vending machines expect student dining hall menus. We often use there because we are looking forward to choose various foods. And then, price is much cheap for our student. So, it is easy for us to buy foods and drink in there. we like Tantanmen is the best in student dining hall menu. It is a little hot and moderate quantity for us. So we recommend girls too. Student dining hall is between Kenkyu-tou and Library.



Fifth, there are a lot of places to use PCs in this university. For example, library, e-campus center, PC’s rooms of 1 building and so on. So, all students have many chances to use PCs. we are always in trouble then because We don’t have a printing machine in our house when our classes’ professors gave us homework which has to use PC and print out it. But, there are a lot of places to use PC and a printing machine in this university, so We are always helped them. Sixth, We have favorite space in Kumamoto Gakuen University. This is a library. Our university's library is very wide. There are many books. We don't know what to have it. we can't read all books until graduation day. We will read anything in my power. We often go to there to study. The many of students make use of it during examination week. It was crowded packed to overflowing with students. We will go to there next examination days. The library is very silently, because all students want to read in a silently space. We hope it.



Seventh, there are many kind people in this university. When we are in trouble, people who are around us gave us some advices. We are belonging to Eibei Gakka, there are many kind people in Eibei Gakka. So We love them. We often plane girl’s party on about two months. So you don’t need to worry about human relationship. Probably, you can make good friends soon.



Eighth, everyone is good friends each other. We are also belonging to Circle.We like 8 center. That because there is in our friends. 8 center has circle's room. Our circle are a study group culture assets and a study group economic circle.All member are very kind too. Kumamoto University has many kind of circles. The 3 individual of a combination to circle and couture and Gakusho. We join Gakusho. I like Gakusho, beause many peoples kind of me. We are happy! Gakusho has many circles, for example, a study group hospitality and economy and marketing and children and society etc... We want to join Gausho. If you join in, you will get many friends.

Essay 1-02b; University Life

Hello, international students! I’m going to introduce you four good points of this university. If you listened my talk after, I would be glad that you refer my talk.

 First, there are a lot of places to use PCs in this university. For example, library, e-campus center, PC’s rooms of 1 goukan and so on. So, all students have many chances to use PCs. I am always in trouble then because I don’t have a printing machine in my house when my classes’ professors gave us homework which has to use PC and print out it. But, there are a lot of places to use PC and a printing machine in this university, so I am always helped them. And, PCs in this university have all softs to useful for us to learn English, extracurricular class, many English dictionary and so on. These softs are very useful for us. I often use them. If we get a job, we would have many chances to use PCs to make a plan for our work. Please use places to use PCs for you in the future.

 Second, there are a lot of places to eat foods and drink. For example, LAWSON, Bakery, student dining hall. Especially, student dining hall has a lot of various foods and drink. There are Bakery’s breads deserts a lot of kinds of vending machines expect student dining hall menus. I often use there because I’m looking forward to choose various foods. And then, price is much cheap for our student. So, it is easy for us to buy foods and drink in there. I like Tantanmen is the best in student dining hall menu. It is a little hot and moderate quantity for me. So I recommend girls too. LAWSON is in front of Bushitsutou. Student dining hall is between Kenkyu-tou and Library. Bakery is on the first floor in 12 goukan. Please go each places.

 Third, there are many kind people in this university. When I am in trouble, people who are around me gave me some advices. I’m belonging to Eibei Gakka, there are many kind people in Eibei Gakka. So I love them. We often plane girl’s party on about two months.

Everyone is good friends each other. I’m also belonging to Economic Research Circle. All ERC members are very kind too. So I have good human relationships. Every Wednesday is Circle activity day. We usually go somewhere by cars, go to dinner, play sports in a gymnasium and so on. It is very fun for me to play together. This is why, this university students are kind people. So you don’t need to worry about human relationship. Probably, you can make good friends soon.

Finally, this university is nearby downtown so, I often go shopping, have lunch or dinner with my friends after school. If you have part time job, there many places to work. Moreover, this university has a bus which goes Kumamto station, Trichousuji and so on. It is Gakuendai Liner. It is very useful for us to go somewhere and pay cheap fare. If we ride on the bus, we would pay only 100 yen. But, I have never ride the bus, so I want to use it someday. Please you use it.

 This is why; there are many good points in this university. But these are only a part of all. I want to talk food points in this university for you. I wish you send enjoyable days in this university.    (590 words)

 I want to introduce to some international students three good points of KGU.

 At first, there is a students' dining hall. There are a lot of kinds of menu in a students' dining hall. It is cheaper than other restaurants, and there is a special lunch offer that changes from day to day. So I enjoy eating and choosing many various menus. My favorite menu is Tantan nodal. It is a little hot, but this taste looks like I can’t stop sticks. If you are tired and eat it, you would feel better. There are not only a students’ dining menu but also the bakery and other confectionery shops. Also, there are Nikuman and Yakiimo during winter. It is easy for us to eat beside a students’ dining menu.

   Next, there are many kind people in this university. If I were worried, my friends would listen to my talk seriously and give me some advice. English subject of study students are very kind and my circle members are very kind too. This university provides English Lounge for some international student. It is the place which we can talk with many international students and this university student and play games. So, you will have chance to make a friends or get along with friends.

 At the end, this university is easy to go to somewhere. Gakuendai liner is opened to traffic to Kumamoto station from this university. Moreover, the charge is all 100 yen if we go somewhere on this bus. It is very convenience so, I sometimes use this bus. It is cheaper than any other buses and we can ride on the KGU premises. And then we often go Torichousuji because there are many shops. In addition to we take for 15 minutes by bicycle because Torichousuji is near this university. So, I go there with my friends to eat sweets, go shopping and so on.

  This is why this university has a lot of good points. However, there are many good points in this university than I wrote three good points. Please enjoy this university life together. (350 words)

 By the way, Who is your favorite musician? My favorite musician is Lady Gaga. She is a great talented musician. I think she has a passion about music and fashion. She cherishes her fans too. I want to talk with you about your favorite musician.

 I have never been abroad. This study and training is my first trip abroad. So, please tell me how to go somewhere, your culture, your lifestyle and so on. Most Japanese are Buddhists, but we have no concept about religion, so we celebrated Christmas at December 24, 25^th. We eat a turkey, Christmas cake and so on. At January 1^st, we enjoy the New Year’s mood, go and worship at a shrine. You may feel these actions, but we enjoy incorporating good paints of them. So I think that we enjoy native culture events. I learn the real religious significance because we didn’t mostly understand when we enjoy other’s culture events.

 What are the famous foods in USA? My country has Sushi, Udon, Tempura and so on. I often go to Sushi-ya with my friends or my family, but I can’t eat row fish. I can eat only shrimp, squid and octopus, because I don’t like row fish taste when I eat it. You may think it strange that I can’t eat Sushi, but I am Japanese. I want to tell you about Tempura I know it very much. I studied it in Japanese education class. There are many type of tempura, for example there is Tempura ice cream! It doesn’t melt cold ice cream fried in not oil. Are there strange foods in USA?
