2-02b: My favorite place

Hi, everyone! Where is your hometown? I’m from Miyazaki. So I like my hometown because I have lived there since I was born. I introduce my favorite place in my hometown. There are many wonderful places in my hometown. For example nature, school which I had gone, my parents’ house and so on. There are wonderful things for me. I’ll introduce the best place I think that is high school.

First reason, high school which I had gone is there are many good teachers in there. Especially, Mr. Muraoka teacher took care of me, so I appreciated his kind, he always considerate me. Whenever I was worried about something, he talked me “What’s happened?” “I’ll consult with your worrying”. So I talked about my worrying of studying, university and so on. Mr. Muraoka teacher was never in change my class, but he was the head teacher in charge of all classes. And then when I took an exam for Kitakyuushu Kouritsu college’s recommendations from their high school, he was in charge of me. So he told me many useful things.

Second reason, high school is events which we tackled seriously. For example athletic festival, culture festival school excursion and so on. My best memory of high school event is culture festival. Our class won the championship of a chorus in culture festival. We were very happy we were the champion. It was the best memory of my high school life.

Third reason, high school I had gone is there were many goods friend in there. When I was a high school student, everyone got along with each other. So sooo funny every day!! We studied together, played free time, quarreled with each other. But they were good memories for me. Especially I appreciated Shihoko, she is a friend of mine since I was in high school. She is kind and powerful girl. I sometimes quarreled with her but we always got along with each other. When I took an exam of Kitakyuushu University, she made pencil box for me. And the she said me “I wish you will pass the exam!!” I was so happy, I kept it and used it now. I think she is the best friend. She goes to Miyazaki University, so I can’t meet her frequently. However we have free time, we always meet and go somewhere and talk about each other. I want to meet her again.

Four reasons, high school I had gone is there are many lessons for students. This school teacher took care of our studying hard. Especially, there are many lessons after school, after taking Center Examination. And if there aren’t lessons the day, we could listen how to solve the problems we couldn’t solve. Teachers taught us them what if they were busy. They were so kind teachers.

This is why I like high school. Whenever I have free time, I always go there to see teachers with my friends. I think sometimes I want to come back in high school life. So I am looking forward to see each other in a coming-of-age celebration. Maybe some people changed their appearances. They are the part of my pleasure. (550/8279 words)

August 4th, 5th (homestay)

Saturday, my host family’s son and his family came my house in the morning, so I had to get up early today. I got up at 7:00. Ella; my host family’s grandchild was very cute girl. She is 2 years old. She showed me her favorite some stuffed toys and how to use toy’s phone while smiling to me. She is good at jumping on music, so she done many times. Her smiling made my feeling happy. After they went back, I went to the grocery store with my host family. They bought some plants to plan their garden. I think almost all of American people plant some plants in their garden and arranged beautifully I carried their plants into their car.

Frankly speaking, I think I don’t match with my host mother because she often says to me any rude words, so I always fall down. But I decided not to worry about it. So I’ll just enjoy my homestay life. And then I’ll talk my opinion to my host mother directly if I felt difference what she said.

Sunday, I got up at 9:00, I took a shower. I thought American shampoo doesn’t match with my hair. So I think I should bring my shampoo in Japan. And then I ate breakfast my host father cooked. After eating breakfast, I studied English. For example I wrote blog’s articles, remembering words to have many vocabularies.

At lunch, we ate 2 sandwiches; I have nothing to do, so I watched TV or studied today. (254/8135 words)

‘It’s OK, little girl! It’s OK! says the wolf. “I’m a good wolf”’[p.6]

I remembered I had read this story when I was a child. And I played the part of Little Red Riding Hood on the kindergarten.

I read this story again, I think don’t follow strangers because what if he looks like kind or gentleman on his outside, he might be bad man and dangerous on inside. So we don’t believe strangers immediately.

This world, there are many dangerous problems even if it is Japan. And then parents who have children have to pay attention to it especially. Or others who live in local place have to cooperate with each other. For example someone stay street which students always go to school.

I think “Little Red Riding Hood is just a story” is bad. We have to think about them seriously.

August 3rd (homestay)

Today is homestay program 12th day. I prepared lunch by myself because there was nobody in the house, so I prepared the lunch by myself. I was convinced that I don’t match with host mother since I have spent with her for weeks. She said to me “I want to take another exchange student after you will be gone. Because my husband will be gone as his work and he will be busy. I’ll be sad and lonely.” I thought she takes some exchange students not to empty her heart. And she said it directly in front of me, I still be here. She always talk to me that she used to be a host family for some students. She often misstated my name. She calls me “Sakura”. Sakura was a homestay student of Kumamoto Gakuen 2 years ago. It passed 2 weeks, but she doesn't remember my name and she sometimes call me Sakura. I’m shocked. And then she often said “Every student before accepting you could speak English fluently than you.” She sometimes says “You are not polite”. But I think she is not polite either.

After going to school, we did canoeing. I have never done canoeing, so I was worried about over turning our canoe. Our members were Mami, Tomoki and I. I enjoyed canoeing. We crossed a river slowly by canoe, so I felt a pleasant breeze. There are some eagles in the distance sky. It made the atmosphere more attractive. But I got sunburn.

After doing canoe, family picnic started at 18:00. Our group skit was “Invisible bench”. We worried about whether our skit will be accepted for American or not. But it seemed to be accepted and funny. We were relieved to see their response. I thought Yukino’s group was the most of us.

After going back home, I took a nap. Eiden; our host family’s grandchild came our house, so I played with him. I was tired twice as much. (327/7254 words)

August 2st (homestay)

Today is homestay program 11st day. I also cooked two waffles and ate it. Rikyou University students participated in this homestay program from today, so it is different the way to allocate a car today. We went to Bethel University with contain me and Rikkyou University students. We felt awkward each other at first, but we got along with each other gradually. We were overwhelmed them because their numbers were twice than us. However I think I will get along with them gradually.

In the morning, Joel explained us about canoe after we studied ESL. I thought it is difficult for me to get into canoe because I can’t keep my balance so I might fall into Lake.

At lunch time, I ate pasta on bacon and cream sauce in the dining hall as usual. I feel cold inside today, so I drank two cups of hot coffee.

After eating lunch, we played volley ball. I felt too hot outside, so I and some friends of mine took a break under the tree. A friend of mine Maki, she is good at dancing, so we were taught how to dance by her and we danced NMB48’s song. Our dance is as if just like kindergartener’s dancing. It was very fun.

After playing volleyball, we did Education panel Discussion. For instance Charter school, Private school and Public school and so on. Especially I was interested in Home school system in America because Japan doesn't have Home school system. Katie talked about it; she said Home school is small people or one on one. So it seems that has some problems. For instance, it is difficult to make friends, problems of parents and child relationship. But I envied points. I thought if this system will be received into Japanese Education, some people who are bullied. It might be useful for them to spend freely and easily.

Outside was too hot and Inside was cold for me today, so I’ll take care of not feeling bad. I’d like to do my best tomorrow. (340/6927 words)

My favorite Hello Kitty

My favorite character is Hello Kitty. I have liked it since I was a child. I have a lot of Hello Kitty goods. So I have liked Hello Kitty, my parents took me to Harmony land in Oita. I have been to Harmony land three times when I was a child. One day we went to there, the day was my birthday so Hello Kitty celebrated my birthday and sang birthday song form in front of others. I was so happy; I appreciated with my parents taking me to there. When I was a child, my clothes were all Hello Kitty things. Now I don’t have Hello Kitty clothes but I have a lot of Hello Kitty goods. I would like to correct more. For example, a mechanical pencil, pens, notebooks and lunch box and so on.
